Intelligent Investing Platform

A personal side project — and my undergraduate research project — to see whether I can build smart, honest rules for picking good stocks to hold for years, instead of guessing or chasing hype. The program looks for financially healthy companies trading at a fair price, then checks the results against real market history to see whether the whole idea actually works before it would ever be trusted with real money. This project is very early and still being actively built. Right now it only trades with fake ("paper") money, and the strategy hasn't been proven yet.
  • Find good companies — Scores stocks on how financially healthy the business is and whether the price is fair, not on hype or headlines
  • Check for red flags — Skips any company that looks like it might be in trouble, no matter how good it looks otherwise
  • Buy and hold — Aims to hold around 20 companies for years at a time, with a human (me) approving every trade — nothing trades automatically
  • Save on taxes — Tracks purchases carefully to minimize taxes whenever something eventually gets sold
  • Test everything honestly — Runs the strategy against years of real market history to see if it would have actually worked, with safeguards in place so the test can't "cheat" by peeking at future information
  • Python — Core of the whole system
  • Claude Code — Used throughout to help design, build, and test the program
Still in the research and testing phase. No real money is invested — everything currently runs on simulated ("paper") trades while the approach gets tested and refined. This is a personal research project, not investment advice.
